If you take a peek below you’ll see that I’ve provided you with a Pigeon Peak Pose Themed Yoga Lesson Plan for you in three formats:
Pigeon Peak Pose Lesson Plan (short version)Â
Each yoga lesson plan you create within the Yoga Genie Lesson Planner comes with a short version of the lesson plan. The short version is perfect for taking into class with you. It’s short and sweet.
Pigeon Peak Pose Lesson Plan (long version)Â
Each yoga lesson plan you create within the Yoga Genie Lesson Planner comes with a long version of the lesson plan. The long version has everything you need to practice the lesson plan before getting to class. You can take it to class with you (but you may prefer to take the short version). The long version is a great handout to give to your students, especially your one-to-one students. It immediately shows your professionalism and increases your expertise in the eyes of your students.
Pigeon Peak Pose Lesson Plan (stream version)Â
Each yoga lesson plan you create within the Yoga Genie Lesson Planner comes with a video stream version of the lesson plan. You’ll be able to provide the streams to students as a URL, so they can practice from home.
I wasn’t going to add the article below, but it got an overwhelmingly positive response when I posted it on my Yoga Lesson Plans Facebook Page.
If you like the message it teaches, you could print this page and use it as a yoga philosophy reading within your yoga class.
WANTED: EVIL MAN FROM STOCK ON TRENT WHO BOOTED A PIGEON SO HARD THAT ITS BODY WAS LAUNCHED OVER 2 CARS, AND AFTER A FEW EXCRUCIATING MINUTES OF SUFFERING, IT DIED.
A few hours ago I read a news article saying that RSPCA is appealing for information to help track down a man seen kicking a pigeon to death in a busy shopping area in Staffordshire. The local councillor said:
“We are a nation of animal lovers. I have no idea why anyone would want to do something like this.”
This got me thinking.
According to the NHS, it is estimated that around 98% of the UK population are meat-eaters.
That means 64 MILLION people in the UK eat meat 3 or more times every week.
So what?
Let’s go back to the Telegraph article.
The article said…
“Under the Animal Welfare Act, anyone found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal can face a punishment of up to six months in prison with a £20,000 fine.”
If that Act was carried out for the millions of farm animals that meat-eaters consume, 64 million people in the UK would be in jail right now.
Why jail?
Because the moment you purchase the meat, you indirectly caused that animal to die.
You indirectly slit their throats.
You indirectly had their brains blown out by a bolt gun.
You indirectly had them ground up alive.
You did all this “indirectly” due to supply and demand. If you didn’t demand (buy) a piece of meat, there would be a little less meat in the supermarket next week. The supermarket computers dutifully track every purchase made. And when stocks are low, more is ordered. When things aren’t in “demand”, they are removed from the shelves.
So, my question to you is a simple one.
“How is a PIGEON any different to a chicken, or a cow, or a sheep?”
And if it’s not different…
“Why aren’t 64 MILLION PEOPLE in the UK in prison right now?”
How can we call ourselves a nation of animal lovers when every year in the UK approximately…
- 2.6 million cattle
- 10 million pigs
- 14.5 million sheep and lambs
- 80 million fish
- 950 million birds
…are slaughtered for human consumption.
Is that animal loving?
I’ve been Vegan for about 18 months. I’m still very much alive.
Thanks for asking.
And amazingly I’ve not died from a lack of protein. Here’s an interesting factoid. There’s not been one single recorded case of someone dying from lack of protein. Not one. Nada. Zilch. Zip. But approximately 20 MILLION people every year die from cardiovascular diseases.
How does one go about acquiring cardiovascular disease?
Well, your best bet is to eat lots of protein (meat and dairy).
Ask yourself this question:
“Have I ever heard of anyone who has a protein deficiency?”
The answer will be an overwhelming
“No”.
Protein deficiencies are extraordinarily rare outside of developing countries.
5 Reasons For Becoming Vegan
In 18 months of being Vegan, I’ve saved…
599,500 litres of water
Bear in mind the next wars are probably going to be Water Wars.
21,800 lbs of grain
11.3% of the world’s population are starving – that’s 805 million people going hungry because the land for growing grains is used for the Meat & Dairy industry.
16,350 Sq ft of forest
Trees produce the oxygen we breathe. On average, 1 tree produces nearly 260 pounds of oxygen each year. 2 mature trees can provide enough oxygen for a family of 4.16,350 square feet of the forest will produce enough oxygen for approximately 9 people to breathe for a year.
10,900 lbs of CO2
About 19.64 pounds of CO2 are produced from burning a gallon of gasoline. A car holds approximately 12 gallons of gasoline. That means saving 10,900 Ibs of CO2 is the equivalent of 46 trips to the petrol station to fill up my car.
545 animal lives
Well, what can you say about saving 545 animals from having their necks slit or bolts ripping through their brains (bolt gun)? More than 150 BILLION animals are slaughtered every year. You can see the Kill Counter here.
