Chair yoga shaped around the person in the chair.
Private chair yoga sessions (within 15 miles of Newcastle Emlyn, West Wales) for mature students and people with limited mobility, planned around your body, energy, goals and confidence. Sessions are held at your home.
A generic class cannot see how your knees feel today.
Your session can. One-to-one chair yoga gives us room to notice what feels comfortable, what needs adapting and what would be useful in everyday life.
We work at your pace. The aim is not to perform impressive shapes. It is to help you move, breathe and practise with more confidence.
Start where you are
Your current mobility, energy and confidence set the starting point. There is no secret entrance exam involving a pretzel.
Adapt every movement
Range, pace, support and repetitions can all change. The practice fits you, not the other way around.
Build useful confidence
We repeat what helps, record it in your plan and make home practice straightforward enough to actually happen.
A proper plan, personal guidance and a little card playing.
We talk first
We discuss your goals, movement, mobility, confidence and any relevant guidance from a health professional.
We practise your sequence
I create a chair yoga lesson plan using my Online Yoga Lesson Planner, then adapt it as I watch you move.
You choose the cards
The final part is chair yoga card playing time. You select poses while I observe, assist and make helpful adjustments. Less casino, more cat-cow.
You take the practice home
You leave with your lesson plan and your Chakra Chair Yoga Card Deck, so progress does not depend on remembering everything.

For people who want yoga to feel possible.
You may enjoy these sessions if you are...
- A mature student who wants a steady, supportive pace
- Living with limited mobility or finding floor work difficult
- Completely new to yoga and happier starting privately
- Returning after a long break and rebuilding confidence
- Looking for a practical home routine you can repeat
What chair yoga is not
It is not a lesser version of yoga. A chair gives us a stable base for mobility, strength, balance, breathing and relaxation.
It is also not medical treatment. If you are unsure whether yoga is suitable for a health condition, please ask a qualified healthcare professional first.
I created the planner and the cards we use.
Every class has a proper plan
I use the Online Yoga Lesson Planner to build a sequence around you. We can edit the plan as your needs change, instead of treating it like a sacred scroll.
See the Online Yoga Lesson PlannerEvery student receives a card deck
You receive a copy of my Chakra Chair Yoga Card Deck. It gives you a visual, flexible way to choose poses and keep practising between sessions.

You choose the cards and practise the exercises. I move around the room, observe, assist and suggest adaptations when useful. This trains you to make your own choices, which is exactly what you will need when you are at home and I am not standing nearby telling you what to do.
Prefer home chair yoga without George telling you what to do?
Fair enough. Choose from the six-deck Chakra Chair Yoga series and practise at home in your own time. The cards provide the visual prompts; I remain safely elsewhere, not rearranging your cushions.

I am a big believer in home practice. It does not need to be long, complicated or conducted at sunrise while facing a particularly spiritual houseplant.
You can repeat the lesson plan we created together, choose a few cards from your deck, or build a short routine around how you feel that day.
- Clear visual reminders
- Movements already practised with support

Small-group chair yoga is £20 per person per hour for two people, or £15 per person per hour for three people. Each student receives a tailored chair yoga lesson plan and a digital copy of the Chakra Chair Yoga Card Deck, which you can view on a device, or download and print.

Driving costs
I come to you. Travel is charged at 55p per mile for the return journey from Cwmpengraig, SA44 5HT. For example, if your home or venue is 10 road miles away, the 20-mile return journey costs £11. I will confirm the exact travel cost before you book.
I built the chair-yoga tools. Now I bring them to the chair beside you.
Hi, I’m George Watts, a British Wheel of Yoga teacher based in West Wales, creator of the Online Yoga Lesson Planner and maker of the Chakra Chair Yoga Card Deck series. I use the same chair yoga lesson plans and chair yoga cards I have spent years developing, then adapt them around the person in front of me. Useful movement beats impressive shapes, and nobody earns bonus points for pretending their hamstrings are having a better day than they are.
Useful answers before we unfold a chair.
Do I need to get on the floor?
No. The practice can be done seated and standing with the chair for support. We choose what feels appropriate for you.
Is chair yoga only for complete beginners?
No. It can be gentle or surprisingly strong. The chair is a useful prop, not a label for your ability.
What happens during chair yoga card playing time?
You select cards from your deck and practise the poses while I observe, assist and offer adaptations. It helps you become more confident making choices for your own practice.
Can I practise between sessions?
Please do. You can use the lesson plan from your session or choose cards from your deck to create a shorter practice.
Is this suitable for a health condition?
I can adapt yoga around your comfort and mobility, but the sessions are not medical treatment. If you are unsure, please ask a qualified healthcare professional before taking part.
Can I come with a friend or family member?
Yes. Small-group rates are available for two or three people, and each student receives their own plan and card deck.
Where are sessions held?
I come to your home or another suitable venue we agree together, subject to location and availability in West Wales. One-to-one sessions are not held at my home because my cottage does not have enough space.
Put your chair to better use.
Tell me what you would like help with, what movement currently feels like, where the session would be held and whether you are interested in a private or small-group session.
