A chair yoga class worth getting out of your chair for.
A friendly, practical class for mature students and people with limited mobility—planned around real bodies, ordinary energy levels and chairs that know how to stay put.
The venue is coming soon in the Newcastle Emlyn area. My suggested starting time is Tuesday at 10:30am, but the day and time can change to suit the people who want to come.

Supportive chair yoga, with enough company for a good laugh.
We will use the chair as a steady base for mobility, strength, balance, breathing and relaxation. Everything can be adapted, and no one is expected to compete with the person in the next chair.
The class will suit people who prefer a calm pace, clear instructions and useful movement they can repeat at home.
Stay seated when useful
Exercises can be done seated. Optional standing work uses the chair for support.
Move without rushing
There is time to understand each exercise, adapt it and breathe without being chased by a stopwatch.
Take the practice home
Lesson plans and chair-yoga cards make it easier to continue between classes—without George appearing behind the curtains.
A sensible starting plan, with room to change.
Tuesday at 10:30am
A mid-morning weekday class avoids an early start, finishes before lunch and is often easier for mature students than an evening slot. If another day or time suits the interested group better, we can change it.
Newcastle Emlyn-area venue
I am looking for an accessible local venue with parking, toilets and enough room for fifteen chairs to enjoy personal space. The exact venue, price and start date will be confirmed before anyone books or pays.
Join the Newcastle Emlyn chair yoga interest list.
Add your name and email. There is no booking, payment or commitment. I will contact you when the venue, day, time and price are confirmed.
When fifteen people are interested, I will stop talking to imaginary chairs and start organising the real class. Know somebody whose chair is under-employed? Send them this page too.
Add your details
One hour. Plenty of chairs. Zero pressure to touch your toes.
Arrive and settle
Choose a chair, tell me how you are feeling and let your shoulders stop trying to be earrings.
Move and breathe
We follow a structured chair-yoga lesson plan with options for different bodies and energy levels.
Play your cards
The final part uses my Chakra Chair Yoga Cards. You choose exercises while I observe and assist.
Practise at home
Use the movements and visual prompts between classes, even if you only have ten useful minutes.
Know somebody whose chair is under-employed?
Send them this page and ask them to express their interest too. When the interest list reaches 15, I will confirm the venue, day, time, price and start date with everyone on the list. One person sharing with one or more friends is how a proposed class becomes a room full of real folk making encouraging noises.

Prefer chair yoga without George telling you what to do?
Fair enough. Choose from the six-deck Chakra Chair Yoga series and practise at home in your own time. The cards provide the visual prompts; I remain safely elsewhere, not rearranging your cushions.

Hi, I’m George Watts, a British Wheel of Yoga teacher based in West Wales, creator of the Online Yoga Lesson Planner and maker of the Chakra Chair Yoga Card Deck series. I use the same chair yoga lesson plans and chair yoga cards I have spent years developing, then adapt them around the people in front of me. Useful movement beats impressive shapes, and nobody earns bonus points for pretending their hamstrings are having a better day than they are.

Useful answers before fifteen chairs assemble.
Is expressing interest a booking?
No. It simply tells me you may want to attend. I will contact the list when the venue, price, day, time and start date are ready. You can decide then.
Why Tuesday at 10:30am?
Mid-morning is often practical for mature students: not too early, not too late and finished before lunch. It is a starting suggestion, not a commandment carved into a yoga block.
Can the day or time change?
Yes. The interest list will help me understand what works for the group, and I can change the proposed slot before the class begins.
Where will the class be held?
At an accessible venue in the Newcastle Emlyn area. The exact venue is coming soon and will be confirmed before booking opens.
Do I need to get on the floor?
No. The practice can stay seated. Any standing options will use the chair for support and are optional.
What happens when 15 people are interested?
I will finalise the venue and class details, then email everyone on the list. No payment will be taken through the interest form.
Add your name—and tell a friend who has a hankering for a bit of chair yoga.
When fifteen people have expressed interest, I will turn the proposed class into a real one. Until then, the chairs are warming up quietly.
