Muladhara Girl Yoga Wall Art In Quentin Blake Style

Hi, my name is George.

I’m a yoga-teaching artist and creator of the Muladhara Girl artwork. 

This artwork is in the Quentin Blake style, who is one of my favourite artists. Quentin’s style is known for its scrappiness, yet at the same time manages to contain feeling, humour, and soul.

I originally created the Muladhara Girl to give to my students during a Muladhara-themed yoga class. A few of my students used Canva.com, an online printer, to print Muladhara Girl onto canvas (for under £20). They liked it, and I hope you do too.  

Muladhara 101

Below is a crash course on the Muladhara chakra…

Muladhara = Root of Existence
Mula = root
dhara = flux

Also called the Root Chakra, Muladhara Chakra is based on the earth element. The Muladhara Chakra radiates the colour red. Balancing the Root Chakra creates a solid foundation for opening all the other six chakras. When the Muladhara Chakra is balanced, you will experience stability, confidence, energy, and strength.

The Root Chakra can get blocked by fear and various forms of trauma. Psychological symptoms of blockage include anxiety disorders, fear, panic attacks, worry, overthinking, depression, nightmares, emotionally disconnected, disconnected from the body, and anger. 

7 Steps To Awaken The Muladhara Chakra

1. Print Muladhara Girl. 
2. Sit in front of Muladhara Girl in a meditation posture.
3. Close your eyes.
4. Bend index fingers, so the fingertips touch the inside base of the thumbs.
5. Keep your other fingers straight and relaxed.
6. Place your hands on top of your knees with palms facing down.
7. Focus on the Muladhara area (base of the spine) for 5 minutes.
