Monkeys are known for their playfulness. They also display amazing depths of compassion, understanding, and bonding. Grooming is a major activity for them and they will spend lots of time cleaning each others' fur and skin. Ready to become a monkey? OK. Stand nice and tall at the front of your mat. Take hands way up to the sky. Squat way down to the floor. Lie back taking legs behind you and without using hands or crossing feet see if you can roll all the way up to standing. Sometimes it doesn't turn out perfectly but that's OK because we yogis have fun practicing and are compassionate with ourselves (like a monkey would be) and don't believe in perfection.
