Improve Your Teaching While You Sleep: Yoga Teacher Podcasts

Time
15 minutes

Difficulty
1/10

Overview
Listening to yoga teachers’ teaching is the quickest and easiest way to improve your own teaching.

It’s far better than looking at YouTube videos.

Why?

Well, because yoga teachers who teach via podcast have to give precise, clear instructions because they can’t get away with only giving demonstrations of the poses.

Step 1
Listen To Podcast

Click one of the links below and listen to one of the yoga podcasts.

If you don’t have time to follow along with the yoga podcast on your mat, listen to them in bed. You can also listen to while you’re doing something else (e.g. cooking, driving to work). Just listen. Absorb the instructions. Absorb the yoga teacher’s energy.

Step 2
Listening & Note-taking

Click one of the podcast links (in step 1), and listen with a notepad and pen in hand. Pause when you come to a bit you like, write a note about it, and continue pausing and taking notes throughout the podcast.

I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by what you’ve taken note of.

Step 3
Unleash Your Imagination

Now it’s time to close your eyes and imagine yourself in your yoga class.

Open your notebook.

Pick something you made a note about (e.g. how she introduced the theme of the class), and imagine yourself doing it in front of your class.
