I originally studied with Philip Jones in Wales in the 1970’s. His approach to teaching classes was integrated but with a special emphasis on PRANAYAMA. This is where I ‘fell in love’ with the practice and subsequently travelled to India to study with Dr. Swami Gitananda, the source of much of Philip’s teaching, and a world recognised authority on the theory, philosophy and practice of Pranayama.
I founded Yoga Quests in 1984, an organisation dedicated to the spread of Yoga in its purest sense, and this has been running continuously since that date. Over the years my practice and teaching became more focussed on Pranayama and in 2000 I formulated the Pranayama Foundation Course. Over 300 students have now completed the Course.
I have always seen Pranayama as sitting at the heart of Yoga – the energetic link that allows for a deeper appreciation and understanding of the subtle energies that flow throughout our system.
I run the Foundation Course – 6 days spread over 9 months, around the UK, and travel constantly giving general and specialised workshops and retreats on Pranayama and its potential for Healing, Pranayama and its connections with the Chakras, and, over the last few years – HOW TO TEACH IT.
