When you first log into the Yoga Genie Lesson Planner, you’ll see green writing that says: “to create a yoga lesson plan, click the Create A Yoga Lesson Plan button”.
So, I’m clicking “Create A Yoga Lesson Plan” and will create a Sun Salutation Sequence. You wouldn’t need to create a lesson plan for Sun Salutations because I’ve already created this for you as one of the pre-filled yoga lesson plans. You can use the “search feature” to find the Sun Salutations lesson plan (version A, B or c) and download it.
OK, so I’m going to show you how to create a yoga lesson plan…
Step 1: Name
Write the “Lesson Name” in the box. I’m going to call it Sun Salutations C.
Step 2: Description
Write a description for the lesson plan. This is optional. You can leave it blank if you want to.
Step 3: Duration
Select the “duration”. I’m going to select 60 minutes.
Step 4: Level
Select the “level”. I’m going to select intermediate.
Step 5: Date
Select the “date of class”. I’m going to select November 11th.
Step 6: Time
Select the “time of the class”. I’m going to select 7pm.
Step 7: Students
Select the “number of students”. I’m going to select 20.
Step 8: Handout
This step is optional. You can upload a handout. You can add as many handouts as you want (e.g. a PDF or Word document going into depth on one of the poses within the sun salutations sequence such as Downward Facing Dog). I’m going to upload a PDF handout I created that has several variations of Sun Salutations.
Step 9: Save
Click “save”.
Step 10: Drag & Drop
Now you can start dragging and dropping poses into the dashboard. You can choose from two planners: Yoga Genie Lesson Planner or Pregnancy Yoga Genie Lesson Planner. There are 1000+ poses to choose from. More are added every week.
