What to Expect on the Personal Alchemy Weekend?

Using yoga, meditation, visualisation and practical exercises to embrace health and wholeness on every level of being, this weekend promises to be transformational, inspirational and a lot of fun.

The venue is nestled on 12 acres beneath the Llandegley Rocks of mid Wales, amidst the rippling hills of Radnorshire.     The Llandegley Rocks are the most ancient in the UK.   The earliest fosils on the planet have been unearthed here!    You can understand why several ancient settlements have been found nearby.

Your intention may be a yoga retreat, to detoxify, lose weight or to get some well deserved peace and tranquility.  We provide everything you require to help you on your path.

About the Teachers

George Watts has been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching (BWY yoga teacher) for 2 years.   He runs this event so people can enjoy yoga, meditation, breathing and relaxation in beautiful rural, peaceful surroundings.  George teaches the Hatha style of yoga suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced.  The ancient art of yoga develops flexibility, strength and stamina while enhancing energy and wellbeing.

Semele Xerri is a professional psychic, healer and spiritual teacher with a lightness of touch thanks to her performance background. Through her business Triple Moon, she offers intuitive readings, Reiki healing and training, crystal therapy, and her particular favourite spirit release work, for which she is a trained practitioner. Semele encourages everyone to reach their full, multidimensional potential while living a joyful and inspired life.

The Magical Mellowcroft Venue

Mellowcroft Natural Holistic Centre is nestled beneath the Llandegley Rocks of mid Wales, amidst the rippling hills of Radnorshire.  It is a haven for wildlife and exploration.   The elements of core sustainability are all in place.  We have fresh spring water, solar and wind electricity, compost loos, and two freshwater pools (one for swimming and one for wildlife).  Our eco-builds include a classroom on stilts, a Welsh yurt, a drovers’ cabin and a ‘tree-house’ eco-folly, wood-fired baths, allotments and wireless broadband.

We will be practicing yoga in the the  “Hansel and Gretel cake fortress” (one of the many eco structures within the venue).  It’s a a remarkable and magical space for practing yoga.   The back of the room opens up revealing a gorgeous forest (see pictures below).   There’s no other structure quite like this in the UK.

People do not come here to escape, but to awaken potential, to connect with the Nature around them.

Mellowcroft aims to pioneer a new model of land-use.  It is funded and shaped by its friends and by the local community. Each of its eco-builds has been created by the combined efforts of its members. This is not a piece of land being run for profit. It is a philanthropic enterprise, funded by the same people who are contributing good energy to its natural growth.

We are ‘off-grid’ and aim to remain so.  Electricity is harvested from the wind and sun, with backup generators for heavier needs.

Free Accommodation

Option 1:  Stay in one of the eco structures (Drovers log cabin, Welsh yurt, Eco-folly tree house)

* Drovers Log Cabin:  For shelter from the elements, the drover’s cabin is the perfect retreat. Built in the historic simplicity of the original drovers’ cabins, once dotted all over this landscape, the cabin is a perfect self-contained hideaway. Whether herding flocks to field or market, or not, this simple room, with a log burner and double-bed, is a comfortable and grand place to wake up.

* Welsh Yurt:  This shelter is handmade in Radnorshire, in the Mongolian tradition. It stands on a dry wooden platform, and is made from local steam-bent ash.

* The Eco-folly Tree House:  Set around 3 silver birches, this is a building of no fixed purpose. It was first built as a floating meditation platform, high in the trees, a place to be still in the moving winds.  Made almost entirely from recycled materials, this is a true eco-build.  The ground floor is a communal kitchen, with cooker, sink and water.  The middle floor moves as the wind through the trees, a unique and restorative experience for a night’s sleep.  As a good folly, it is perpetually unfinished, but those wanting to work toward its completion are welcome to.

Option 2:  Bring a tent and set up camp beneath the Llandegley Rocks of mid Wales, amidst the rippling hills of Radnorshire.
.
Option 3:
Stay in one of our caravans (can sleep 4 or more people).  Be warned this is NOT luxury.   It’s comfortable & warm.

Everything needed for core self-sufficiency is here. We have fresh spring water, solar and wind energy.  There are compost toilets, freshwater pools (one for swimming and one for wildlife), wood-fired baths, wireless broadband (there are no showers).

There are no sheep, wildflowers have emerged amongst the silver-birch woods; camping here is a beautifully grounding experience.

The FREE accomodation is on a first serve basis.  So, please book early to secure your FREE accomodation.

A bit of Llandegley History

Llandegley derives it name from the church of St Tecla, who gave the village its former name Llandegla. The saint was famous in olden times for her kindness to sufferers from the ‘falling sickness’, a form of epilepsy.  Sufferers would visit Llandegley in the hope of a cure. Firstly they’d wash in one of the many wells in the area, then make an offering to a woman giving a hen, a man giving a cockerel, and to the saint, before spending the night under the communion table.
